Sunshine Coast Grammar School is thrilled to recognise two dedicated Sunshine Coast Grammar Rugby Academy athletes who have been selected to represent the Australian Barbarians Team.
Joshua Barlow and Jimmy Jackson are two of five Sunshine Coast athletes to be selected for the team following their performances for Queensland at the Australian Schools Rugby Championships held in Sydney over the recent school holidays.
The Team will have the opportunity to face Tonga in September and have begun preparations for the highly anticipated game.
The student’s accomplishment is a testament to their immense talent and unwavering determination. The road to the national team demands years of hard work, disciplined training and dedication to honing their skills. Their journey inspires our younger Grammar players and reinforces that success is attainable through perseverance and commitment.
The athletes form an integral part of the Grammar First XV Rugby Team and recently won the Garth Hunt Shield at the prestigious Sunshine Coast Secondary Schools Rugby Union Grand Finals for the sixth consecutive year.
Sunshine Coast Grammar School’s Rugby Academy Program is one of the most successful rugby programs in regional Queensland, having enormous success over the past decade.
The Academy is built on strong foundations, supporting the development and growth of all players and coaches to deliver success, achievement and participation.
The Academy has supported many of its players to go on to represent higher levels in the code, including Queensland Reds, Melbourne Rebels, ACT Brumbies and the Wallabies.
