Sunshine Coast Grammar School Community Unites for Annual Beach clean

On Saturday, over 150 Sunshine Coast Grammar students, staff and families came together for their annual Beach Clean event. This year’s efforts resulted in the removal of over 30kg of rubbish from Kawana Beach, in collaboration with Clean Up Australia.

For the past 10 years, the school’s community service group, Grammar Helping Hands, has partnered with Clean Up Australia to positively impact Sunshine Coast beaches. Together, the group has successfully removed over one tonne of rubbish from local coastlines.

The school’s Director of Community and Service, Mr Ben Princehorn, who spearheads the school-based program and its initiatives, expressed his gratitude and pride in the school’s efforts.

“We are incredibly proud of our students who consistently demonstrate their commitment to environmental stewardship.”

The event gains momentum each year, with more students and families joining the community service initiative.

“It is a testament to the power of collective action and we are proud to see the positive impact we can make together for our local community,” shared Mr Princehorn.

The beach clean-up event provides excellent opportunities for students to connect with their community and allows them to enjoy quality time with friends while making tangible and meaningful contributions to our local area. As a community, Sunshine Coast Grammar School is united in our shared values, working together to live, learn, and grow sustainably.
