Statement from the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association (PMSA) regarding the Presbyterian Church of Queensland (PCQ) receivership.
You may have seen recent media reports which refer to the Presbyterian Church of Queensland (PCQ) entering into receivership.
This development will have no impact on the operation or finances of the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association (PMSA) or its schools. The PMSA operates separately from the churches and has no operational or financial ties to either the PCQ or the Uniting Church.
The PMSA, which is the owner of Somerville House, Brisbane Boys’ College, Clayfield College and Sunshine Coast Grammar, is a joint mission of the Uniting Church Queensland and the PCQ. That mission has a history exceeding 100 years in education and continues to grow and change for the future benefit of all our schools. The PMSA provides outstanding education, and guides young people with Christian values for life at school and beyond.
