We are thrilled to congratulate five of our talented Grammar Equestrian riders, Amelia Bobyreff, Mia Doogue, Jorja Hayes, Jett Biffin, and Finn Pilcher, on their remarkable achievements at the prestigious Marcus Oldham Australian Interschool Equestrian Championships, hosted by Equestrian Queensland during the September holidays.
Representing Queensland in a field of 420 riders and 490 horses from across Australia, students competed in a variety of disciplines, including Show Horse, Combined Training, Eventing, and Dressage. Their hard work, passion and dedication shone through as they delivered outstanding performances:
- Mia Doogue (Year 10) was named Senior Novice Australian Champion, Secondary Elementary National Reserve Champion, and Reserve National Champion Senior Team for Dressage.
- Jett Biffin (Year 6) placed 9th overall in Primary Combined Training 80cm.
- Finn Pilcher (Year 6) finished 11th in Primary Combined Training 60cm.
- Jorja Hayes (Year 9) placed 9th in Intermediate Show Hunter.
- Amelia Bobyreff (Year 11) had a flawless Showjumping and Cross-Country round in the Eventing EVA 95cm, securing a 10th-place finish overall.
These remarkable results not only reflect the individual excellence of each rider but also highlight their commitment to the demanding and challenging sport of equestrian. The time and dedication our students put into their training is truly inspiring.
We are also proud of the Queensland Team, which won both the Overall Award and the Spirit Award.
Congratulations to all of our riders on their outstanding achievements and for representing our school and the state with distinction. We look forward to seeing what they will accomplish next in their equestrian journeys.
