This week, the Sunshine Coast Grammar School community gathered in celebration and reflection as we honoured the achievements of the Class of 2024 at our annual Year 12 Graduation Assembly.
The Assembly marked the culmination of 13 years of dedication, academic achievement and personal growth, with students, families and staff joining together to recognise this pivotal milestone.
Our School Captain’s Alexandra Pennay, Liam Evans, Zara Kerin-Bird and Grady Murray delivered heartfelt speeches, expressing their gratitude while reminiscing on their Grammar journeys. Their words captured the spirit of the graduating class and the unique bond they share as Life Long Learners and friends.
Our Principal, Mrs Anna Owen addressed the graduates with an inspiring message about the enduring power of relationships and the importance of leading with empathy and grace.
“Connect with those around you at every step of your life, really see people and they will see you. Seek to control the pace, make space for others and lead and live with grace,” said Mrs Owen.
In a cherished Grammar tradition, each graduate received a special gift from our Prep students, a gesture that connects our youngest learners with those embarking on their next chapter. The Class of 2024 also boasts the largest group of Life Long Learner students in our school’s history, making this milestone even more meaningful.
Following the Assembly, the graduating students embarked on the traditional Walk of Honour through our Rainforest Walk, symbolising the conclusion of their journey at Grammar. Prep to Year 11 students, alongside family members and staff, lined the path and celebrated the Year 12 students as they took their final steps through campus. The traditions continued with the Class of 2024 taking a swim in Lake Tranquility, a rite of passage marking the end of their time at Grammar.
Later that evening, the celebrations continued with students, families and staff gathering for a night of glitz and glamour at the annual Formal. The evening is an opportunity to reminisce, celebrate their Grammar journey and embrace the bright futures that await them.
Congratulations Class of 2024! We are incredibly proud of all you have achieved and excited about the promising paths you will now forge.
