Excitement filled the air as our Year 5 students proudly presented their innovative small businesses at their annual Market Day recently.
With a $20 investment and an abundance of enthusiasm, these budding entrepreneurs created an array of products and experiences. From handcrafted candles and keyrings to interactive game stalls, students were eager to bring their innovative ideas to life.
The annual Market Day is the highlight of the Year 5 Entrepreneurship Program which allows students to dive into the fundamentals of running a business. Throughout the term, students have collaborated in small teams to develop business plans, refine product ideas, design logos and marketing strategies.
The result of their hard work was shared with students, staff and families and showcased their growth in creativity, teamwork and problem solving.
Sunshine Coast Grammar School Head of Primary, Mr Craig Angel shared his pride in the students’ progress and enthusiasm for the program that develops practical skills and fosters a love for learning.
“Market Day provides our students with a unique opportunity to step into the business world and allows them to develop real-world skills,” said Mr Angel.
The Market Day also reflects the school’s strong sense of community with all proceeds supporting our community service program, Grammar Helping Hands. This endeavour encourages students to connect their business efforts with meaningful causes.
“It is inspiring to see our students understand the broader impact their business ventures can have. They’re not just learning about business, they are learning about making a difference,” said Mr Angel.
