Building Knowledge and Resilience

We recently had the privilege of hosting Paul Dillon, the highly regarded founder of Drug and Alcohol Research and Training Australia (DARTA). With a wealth of knowledge and experience in drug education, Paul is known for his evidence-based approach to addressing complex issues relevant to today’s youth. During his visit, Paul engaged our Year 9, 10, and 11 students in interactive workshops that focused on critical areas including alcohol awareness, the impact of risk-taking behaviour and the value of supporting friends.

Paul’s sessions resonated with our students, providing practical, research-driven strategies to help them make informed choices. He highlighted how social influence, media and peer dynamics often shape young people’s decisions and encouraged students to evaluate these factors. By opening discussions around these issues, Paul empowered students with the skills to handle difficult situations, whether in a social setting or during times of personal challenge.

Paul’s session forms a vital addition to our well-being program, providing our students with tools they can carry forward into adulthood.

We extend our gratitude to Paul Dillon for his impactful visit and look forward to welcoming him back as part of our ongoing commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and informed community. Thank you Paul, for your invaluable contribution and for assisting us to creating a safe, supportive and informed community.
