Year 5 Student Named First Youth Ambassador for STEPS Pathways Charity

We are proud to acknowledge Year 5 student, Nate Nelson, who has been named the first Youth Ambassador for STEPS Pathways Charity following his outstanding volunteer work and fundraising efforts since 2023. Nate’s dedication to helping others and his commitment to making a positive impact in the community have set a wonderful example for his peers.

In addition to this recognition, Nate was also honoured as the Fisher Student of the Year 2024 by Andrew Wallace MP, Federal Member for Fisher and is a testament to Nate’s character and leadership.

Nate’s journey with STEPS Pathways began in 2023 when he started volunteering his time to support various initiatives aimed at helping individuals with disabilities. His passion and ability to inspire others have been instrumental in raising awareness and funds for the charity, with over $15,000 raised in two years. To raise funds, Nate walked 21km in 2023 and this year walked 30km alongside local radio station 92.7 MixFM.

Nate’s efforts are a testament to the values instilled at our school through our Grammar Helping Hands program, which fosters a spirit of service and compassion within our school community. At Grammar, we pride ourselves on looking outward to others and serving our community with passion and purpose and are committed to encouraging our students.

Looking to the future, Nate is excited to continue advocating for STEPS Pathways and we look forward to seeing the continued impact he will undoubtedly make in the future.
