Sunshine Coast Grammar is excited to officially welcome their new School Principal, Mrs Owen into the community for the start of the new school year. Mrs Owen will be the fourth Principal to lead the school since its inception in 1997.
Mrs Owen was the former Principal at Canberra Girls Grammar School and prior to that held the position as Deputy Principal at Brisbane Girls Grammar School. She grew up in rural western Queensland and after completing her tertiary studies in Science and Education, Mrs Owen taught at several schools in South East Queensland including Somerset College, Ipswich Girls Grammar and Moreton Bay College.
During her time in Canberra, Mrs Owen established and implemented an award-winning strategic direction and design for Canberra Girls Grammar School. She has become known for the vision and energy she brings to her role.
A member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Mrs Owen is currently completing her Masters of Business Administration through the University of Queensland. Additionally, she is a member of the Australian Council of Educational Leaders (ACEL) and has been at the forefront of leadership, innovation and change management. Additionally, she achieved her Masters in Science with a high distinction and has since completed the Stanford University Managing Teams for Innovation and Success program.
Mrs Owen is excited to return to Queensland and to step into the role of Principal at Sunshine Coast Grammar. “I look forward to meeting and working with the entire Grammar community as we collectively contribute to the next chapter in the life of the School.”

Mrs Owen has extensive experience in leading teaching and learning as well as implementing pastoral care and wellbeing programs.
“I am passionate about the advancement of young people and equity for all. Through my leadership and experience I hope to continue to build a culture of excellence and guide Sunshine Coast Grammar School through its current growth and development,” said Mrs Owen
Mrs Owen is a person with inspirational leadership and strong values grounded in Christian faith and along with her proven experience, she will continue to contribute significantly to the development of the School’s vision, where passion meets purpose.
